Have Questions?

Frequently Asked
Questions

How does billing work?

It depends on the size of the project and if it is time and materials or a contract price. We require a 50% deposit at the start and the final 50% upon completion on smaller contract projects. A smaller upfront percentage (typically 30%) will be required on larger projects, with subsequent portions throughout the project at predesignated milestones. The final holdback amount will need to be paid upon completion. You should never pay a contractor the entire amount upfront and always have a contract detailing the payment schedule, the scope of work, and what is and isn’t included.

What experience do you have?

Over 10 years of experience in both commercial and residential projects. Most of our apprenticeship involved working in high-end homes and professional office towers where site professionalism was paramount. We have experience with everything from fire taping, drywalling over steel stud construction, basement suites, skimming away textured ceilings, small bathroom renovations, major home renovations, and as small as making holes in your wall disappear.

Do I need to sign a contract?

Yes. This is for the protection of everyone involved. It will lay out the client’s and contractor’s responsibilities, the scope of work, what would be considered additional costs, and the payment structure. All too often, there is a news story about an unsuspecting person being taken advantage of by an unscrupulous contractor. Inevitably, there was never a detailed contract detailing the responsibilities of all parties and the victim paid the perpetrator more than what was suitable before benchmarks were met.
